I've professed my love for Bread & Wine by Shauna Niequist a billion times on this blog. You've all heard it, you know all about it. And I sure hope you've read it by now!
One of my favorite blog BFFs, Rachel, from Oh Simple Thoughts, had the fantastic idea of creating a linkup around Bread & Wine to share recipes and ideas, and to discuss hospitality and fellowship! I'm thrilled to be hosting with her today and linking up one of my favorite recipes for The Bread & Wine Project!
I've been very nonchalant with food in the past--thinking that it was just strictly something to put in my mouth and to keep me from being hungry. As I get older, I learn that it's more than just nutrients. The problem I had was I never thought about the reason the Lord created it--not strictly to satisfy our bodies--He also created it to feed our souls. He created it to be the basis of fellowship and hospitality; something for us to bond over.
One of my favorite quotes from Niequist makes us aware that the table isn't just a piece of furniture used to hold up our dinners (or in my house some days, to hold our laundry)--it's a safe place where we can gather loved ones and fellowship, talk about life, get to know each other better, and just simply love each other.
The recipe I'm sharing with y'all today is one of those recipes that is a go-to for me and my family--a gathering isn't complete without this pie. If I have friends coming over or even company stop by unexpectedly, it's something I can throw together quickly and is always a crowd pleaser. I promise, you can't go wrong with this dessert.
Well, now I want another piece. If you're a fan of chocolate chip cookies, you'll die over this pie. Enjoy!
And guess what? We have something fun for y'all today. I'm pairing up with these sweet blog friends to bring you a copy of the Bread & Wine book and a $50 Williams-Sonoma gift card! Head over to Rachel's blog to enter!
